Our Mission

Our mission is to empower low- to moderate-income individuals, through education and training, so as to aid them in developing the requisite skills required to function effectively in today's challenging economic environment in order achieve a better quality of life.

SETCDC seeks to realize its mission through a variety of services that increase the ability of low-income individuals to become homeowners. These services include: homebuyer and consumer education classes, credit counseling, down payment assistance, home building and mortgage pre-approval-all of which play a vital role in contributing to successful community growth and revitalization efforts.

Organization Focus

While the primary focus of SETCDC is to operate as advocates of affordable housing, the organization also engages in comprehensive community development efforts, both independently and collaboratively.

Specifically, SETCDC has a keen interest in providing services that contribute to  business and economic development and stability. SETCDC demonstrates this commitment through its involvement with like-minded community based organizations and local universities, as well as neighborhood and multi-denominational faith-based organizations by actively promoting their meetings, assisting in the marketing and advertisement of their services, sharing information, resources, contacts and referrals.
